David has been involved in photographic education for over fifteen years. During that time he has lectured at both FE and HE level, with some involvement in adult education and schools workshops. In more recent years he has often been seen as the ‘digital’ advisor in that role.
He has a very solid background in both analogue and digital practices and delivers professional training in the latter on a freelance basis, as well as having written a number of articles on the subject for the photographic and design press.
One of the founding members of Redeye, David has also been involved in the developing and running of a number of photography-related initiatives and projects, from a photography festivals (New Exposure, 1998; Look ’07, 2007) to a national photography award (This Working Life, 2005-2007).
In terms of his own photographic work it is documentary photography that interests him the most; he has been both published and exhibited.
Jason gained a degree in Film and Photography at Newport College Gwent, which has an international reputation for documentary photography. After working as a staff newspaper photographer for a number of years, he has been operating as a freelancer since 1998. Using his skills as a reportage photographer, Jason creates images for a diverse range of photography – covering news events, magazine features or corporate reports.
In 2006 he was elected to the board of Directors at Redeye, the photography network which provides information, events, training and professional development. From this he has helped to establish Photomobile and continues to be a regular session leader where his enthusiasm and passion for photography is evident within his workshops.
As well as David Eaton and Jason Lock, who sometimes delivery workshops themselves, Photomobile also has a number of freelance photographers, with extensive experience in workshop deliver, on its books.
A professional commissioning photographer for 25 years, with teaching experience in schools, colleges and adult learning in the UK and Europe.
As well as his commissioned work, Ed’s images have appeared in exhibitions across the UK as well as in a number of publications. In addition Ed organises the SUN Awards, the leading annual exhibition of professional photography. He is also a former director of the Association of Photographers.
