Photomobile gave a great visual presence to Derby Quad’s Format 09 photography festival and was glad to be a part of this prestegious arts event. Our place in the square outside of Quad engaged passing members of the public engaging them with the festival along with visits by art groups from Quad and the wider community.

The second half of this booking took place at Seacroft library in Leeds where we continued to work with schools and community groups including young offenders. Helen Langford of Leeds City Museum quotes ‘The Photomobile was a huge success for us and acted as a spring board to get the people of Leeds interested in their own civic identity and in turn the photography exhibition that we hosted. The unique facilities of the Photomobile allowed us to reach far beyond the walls of the museum and engage a wide range of people in the art of photography.’

This was part one of a fantastic two week booking in association with Leeds Museum and Little London Arts community group. The whole project was initiated to compliment the museums exhibition of documentary photographer Marc Riboud who photographed Leeds and it’s people in the 60’s. The project engaged the community of Little London and the wider Leeds community and through it managed to find some of the people photographed by Marc Riboud almost 50 years earlier.
